Beginning on Bid Night, the Delta chapter quickly works to integrate our new members into our organization. We view the new member period as a vital time in the Alpha Phi journey and are perpetually working to improve the program to appeal to each new member we receive. On Bid Night we match each new member up with a member of the chapter to be their 'bid night buddy', responsible for being the introduction to the chapter, and making sure each new member is feeling comfortable in their new home!
So what happens during the new member period?
In the next weeks, Ivy Linkers, Bordeaux Buddies and Silver Sisters take you under their wings, and out to dinner! During this time period, and with this set of women, you are able to find the perfect sister to call your Big Sister. Finally, right before initiation week we hold Big/Little week, where the amount of gifts you receive from your secret big is only second to the amount of excitment on big/little reveal night!
The new member period is also a time for education; we plan an exciting and informative meeting schedule each week, that allows you to not only get to know your new sisters, but also your new chapter! It is a hectic time, and couldn't be more fun for everyone involved. We are so excited to meet you during Formal Recruitment, and hope that soon, we get to call you our sister!
