•                                       As Cornell University students, we understand the importance of developing leadership

potential for use in life after college. Alpha Phi is a national role model in leadershipdevelopment intitiatives, and provides multiple  opportunities throughout the year for collegiate members, from all chapters, to come together and cultivate their potential in workshops and conferences. Within the Delta Chapter, we offer a variety of leadership positions with ranging time committments and interests. It doesn't matter what your interest is, there is an opportunity waiting for you in our chapter. Members have many opportunities to participate in leadership development training throughout the year! See below for just a few of the opportunities that are offered to our members.

  • Emerging Leaders Institute

Alpha Phi recognizes the importance of modeling leadership skills for our rising leaders to duplicate in their chapters.  The Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI) provides a caring, creative and fun environment where leaders are challenged to explore and strengthen personal values in the context of today's university setting.  The Institute provides our emerging or rising leaders with a unique opportunity to learn from successful Alpha Phi alumnae and each other.  Annually, 150 freshmen and sophomores who show great potential as future chapter leaders are invited to attend.

Fun Fact: Delta Chapter fully sponsors 1 member each year to attend this program.

  • International/Regional Conferences

Each fall, the newly elected executive board travels to the Northeast Regional Conference as an opportunity to gain experience prior to beginning their term in officer. Each officer participates in a number of development workshops over the three day period to ensure they are well prepared to take office in the spring.

Every two years, Alpha Phi International hosts their International Convention as a chance for collegians and alumnae of each active chapter to come together to celebrate the fraternity. The current Chapter President and Chapter advisor attend as the Voting Delegates for the chapter at Convention assembled.

  • A.D. White Leadership Conference

The Cornell University Tri-Council hosts this informative and thought provoking conference each February, and invites the leadership teams from each of the Greek letter houses to attend. The day begins with a collective address to the chapters, followed by a formal luncheon and awards ceremony, and ends with educational programming sessions to benefit the chapter leaders in their specific roles. We encourage all members who hold a position in our chapter to attend this beneficial event, or participate in the planning through the A.D. White Leadership Conference steering committee.
